Top Ten Techno Lists

Top Ten Techno Lists

Are you as tired as I am of Top Ten Techno Lists. You know: “Top Ten” this and “20 Best Ways” to do that? Every article, newsletter, Facebook entry or tweet contains some mutation of  “Top 15 Reasons Why You Should (fill in the blank!)” I know, I know. Even NoWorriesIT’s own eNewsletter has occasionally buckled under the pressure of the current trend and recently included a  “5 Reasons You May Not Know…” article. Not exactly Top Ten Techno Lists, but close enough. And the truth of the matter is, the whole  “Top Ten” method really works, even when you are aware it’s kind of a gimmick. It still makes me want to open up that article, email, newsletter, etc., and find out the “Top 15 Reasons Why I should do…(whatever it is I should be doing!)”

But seriously, don’t you sometimes wonder why you need to know the “Top 10 Ways to Trick Out Your Desk Top?” My day is a little too busy for “tricking out” my desk top. On the other hand, it probably is important for us to know “50 Innovative Ways to Get More Facebook FanPage Likes.” Truthfully, all I could think was: Somebody had an awful lot of time on their hands to sit around and come up with fifty different methods to do so.

I was a little afraid to open this one: “5 Ways to Hack Your Brain.” (These are all real, by the way. I’m not making these up!) However, you should do it…it’s kind of fun.

As a Wannabe Techno Geek, I’m always interested in Top Ten Techno lists. Here are a few that caught my attention recently: “Top 3 Best Anti-Viruses,” “Top 5 iPhone Apps,” “Top 10 Free Software for Your Windows,” and “Top 9 Countries with the Fastest Internet.” There are Top (Fill-in-the-number) lists for just about any Techno topic you’d like to ponder.

Among the Top Ten Techno Lists is one that’s really important for all small businesses: “7 Most Important Data Files You Should Back Up Nightly.” If you are a small business and you aren’t backing up, then you need to start a.s.a.p. If you are small business and you aren’t sure which files are essential to be backing up daily, then you need to read this article. If you are a small business that is backing up regularly, NoWorriesIT applauds you and has a vital question for you: When was the last time you TESTED your backup?
